We assessed how different dietary fats affect heart health in a canine model of moderate obesity and insulin resistance. By using cardiac MRI, we compared the impact of a salmon oil diet to traditional lard and a control diet.

While lard led to weight gain and decreased heart function, the salmon oil diet did not negatively affect insulin sensitivity or heart function. This suggests that the type of fat we consume can play a crucial role in our cardiac health, particularly in the context of obesity.

Salmon oil shows mixed effects
We examined how salmon oil impacts heart disease in 56 patients with lipid metabolism issues. After an initial olive-oil phase, patients took salmon oil for up to 32 weeks. We observed that salmon oil reduced triglycerides in those with high triglyceride levels, but it raised cholesterol levels in patients with high cholesterol. Additionally, increased lipid peroxidation suggests that adding antioxidants like vitamins E and C may be beneficial. More research is needed before recommending widespread use of fish oil due to potential side effects.

Health maintenance
Although the price is high, the quality is outstanding. My parents have taken this fish oil for over a year, as they believe in investing in health at their age. The packaging is excellent, featuring a dark glass jar. They find the capsules easy to swallow and have experienced benefits, such as good general health, stable cholesterol, and no vision deterioration, thanks to regular Omega 3 intake.

Increased quality
I've used this product for 20 years. It's the best quality available. Omega oil is known to help maintain a healthy heart and reduce inflammation when combined with a sensible diet. There’s no 'fishy' aftertaste, and it’s worth the price. I’ve found no better product to date.
